Posted May 8, 2015
Today, the AP reported that Rick Scott admitted to using his mothers death to try and trick the Obama administration into allowing Florida to privatize Medicaid. See for yourself.
In response, Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant issued the following statement:
Sometimes there are just no words.
The lengths to which Rick Scott will go to mislead the public are disgusting. Shame is not a strong enough word.
Join us. Let's move Florida forward.

(14,255 posts)He said okay to the expansion, knowing his pet legislature would either not address it before leaving for the year, or vote no. At the time, I felt that he just said it so it could not be used against him during the election campaign. I did talk with a few Republicans who swore we already had Medicaid expansion, because they saw Scott talk about it.

(16,286 posts)how in the FUCK can 51% of the state of FL claim not to know that too?
THAT is what pisses me off, not Scott
I expect Scott to act like the worst possible excuse for a living, breathing so called human, because he is.
Expecting him NOT to destroy people would be like expecting a rabid dog not to bite me.
The voters however have no excuses.

(82,849 posts)Scott won re-election, which is all that matters to him and his bankrollers. A more recent example of the exact same thing is Netanyahu's re-election in Israel. The week before balloting, Netanyahu declared his opposition to the two-state solution. He was clearly pandering to the right wing reactionaries, but he was locked in a tight re-election battle. When the voting was over and he was safely back in control, Netanyahu came out to reassure his jittery foreign allies that he was just kidding about his opposition, and now they could trust him and stuff all over again.
Yeah, he's disgusting. But he's also the governor of Florida for another term. When are the Democrats going to get their act sufficiently together that they can actually beat this low-life?
