Nope, nothing to see here folks, move along.

(42,714 posts)but 100 degree days, even as early as the end of April, aren't unheard of.
In fact, in Phoenix, the earliest 100 degree day on record was in 1988, when it hit the century mark in late March.
Again, as any climatologist will tell you, using individual weather events as evidence of climate change is not a productive approach to the issue.

(8,352 posts)I have experienced the gradual and ongoing changes first hand.
Yes, there have been exceptional days as you note, however, the overall 'above normal' temperatures that we have experienced now for almost two years is not normal. This year alone we have been running 10 to 15 degrees above normal for almost 5 months.
The weather does begin to reflect the overall changes in climate. That is observable if you have lived someplace long enough to experience it.

(42,714 posts)Snow in Rapid City in May is not all that unusual. And even big snows (a foot or more) have occurred in May on more than one occasion, dating back to the 1890s and as recently as 2008.
The point is that, as has been pointed out innumerable times, a single weather event cannot and should not be cited as evidence of climate change. Doing so only feeds the climate change deniers.
