I've long been bothered by the insane importance given to professional sport in this country.

If terrorists really understood this country, and really wanted to invade, they do it during a Superbowl. Preferably one in which the Washington Redskins (or whatever name they may have in the future) are playing. Just march in during the first quarter, and no one in charge would even notice until hours after the game ended. Days if the Washington team won.

We are very lucky other people do not get how the Superbowl sucks up almost all attention for a week or so.

It's an idea I've been kicking around for decades.

I've also thought of writing a story in which the Second Coming occurs during the half time of a Superbowl.

Thomas Harris (Silence of the Lambs). I want to say Robert Shaw was in it, but I'm not certain.

It's terrorists wanting to kill as many people as possible by dropping some sort of bomb at the Superbowl. No intention to take over this country.

My idea does not involve doing anything at the game itself, but simply invading on that day when 90% of everyone isn't paying attention to anything but that game.
