New Bud Light Bottle Encourages Drinkers To "Remove 'No' From Your Vocabulary"(reddit)
Could Bud Light's insipid celebration of its sameness be more aggressively stupid? A new addition to their #UpForWhatever campaign suggests that it can.

(3,266 posts)"her" vocabulary, and I thought WTF?! But seeing that it says "your" vocabulary changes its meaning, and gives the drinker the choice, so to speak. Meaning I decide if I want to remove "no" from my vocabulary by buying and drinking this beer, vs. having that decision taken away from me by someone else who supplied me with that beer. I know that seems like a nit-picky difference, but I am not offended by the "your" in this case. It means it's my choice.

(146,336 posts)Not only for the sexual issue, but for other things as well. It also encourages getting behind the wheel while intoxicated or doing other incredibly stupid things drunk people do instead of saying "No" to them. Things like"
"No. I'm not driving home. I'm too intoxicated."
"No. I'm not going to have sex with that passed-out woman."
"No! Leave her alone! Can't you see she's too drunk to consent?"
"No. I'm not going to trash the place. That's not right."
"No, I'm not going to take your stupid dare."
"No, I'm not going to play Russian Roulette. That's stupid."
"No, I'm not going to have any more beer. I'm already intoxicated."

That the hidden post was hidden reflects an ugly, censorious attitude on DU. It was not rude, crude, or over-the-top. It merely diverged from the apparent orthodoxy here. I could see it getting hidden in some safe haven group, but this is supposed to be General Discussion.
