Until he calls himself a Democrat...he is NOT one. Patrick Leahy of Vermont has no problem calling himself a Democrat.

Sanders runs for office as an independent but caucuses with the Democratic Party and is counted as a Democrat for purposes of committee assignments. He was the only independent member of the House during most of his service and is the longest-serving independent in U.S. Congressional history. Since January 2015, Sanders has been the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Budget Committee.[5]

has he called himself one yet Cali? Let me know when he does mkay?

(and you know VERY well that Patrick Leahy...from Vermont DOES call himself one)

Patrick Joseph Leahy (/ˈleɪhiː/;[1] born March 31, 1940) is the senior United States Senator from Vermont, in office since 1975. A member of the Democratic Party, Leahy served as the President pro tempore of the United States Senate from December 17, 2012 to January 6, 2015; as President pro tempore, he was third in the presidential line of succession. He is the most senior senator and took office at a younger age than any other current senator. Leahy received the title of President pro tempore emeritus upon the commencement of the 114th Congress.

Will he toss off his "Independence" and announce that he is officially one of us?
