Is 60 Minutes dancing with the NRA?

Did anyone see the segment last night on the Kentucky town with the corrupt sheriff? A 20-year old reporter and local newspaper editor brought him down. There was a lot of NRA "gun-justification-talk" that included the usual: death-threats, bad guys, the decision (by the featured heroes) to arm, training, how to use guns safely, why they had to carry. Not that I blame them... it's just the way 60 Minutes worked it in. After awhile it was sort of Sheriff? What sheriff? Let's talk about guns.

The guy had credible information about a threat on his life, and he even faced a possible killer.

He had a gun, and he showed it, no one was shot or shot at.

End of story.
