This is why Democrats fight for #progress:

There's a reason they call us the "Party of the People.

(9,148 posts)Beautiful well written quotes to tug at the heartstrings.
I want to hear them take on the goons riding in the Clown Car.
Well written profound sounding statements mean little.
I want to hear them say the truth over & over about the Clown Car peeps until their wheels come off.
Convince the Nation you are well prepared to destroy them in the one on one campaign for 2016.
Make me want to vote for you. Because I want them to fail & some coattails riding with you to rebalance the Senate & House so America has a chance to end the GOP fascist run on our Government.
Put up or Shut up.
2016 is the last shot we have. Tell me what you are going to do with the RW fascists.

(36,418 posts)He's not a progressive or even a liberal, except by the standards of the Naval Annex to the Pentagon, where he was appointed Secretary of the Navy under Reagan.
On Obama's Iran framework, he said last week that Congress "should scrub the whole deal." http://freebeacon.com/national-security/jim-webb-pans-iran-deal-congress-needs-to-scrub-this-whole-idea/
The Democrat bucking his party and president will set up an interesting line of questioning for all candidates in the 2016 race. Will those seeking the highest office embrace the deal or run away from Obama?
Webbs likely primary rival, Hillary Clinton, has yet to speak out on the deal besides an initial, intentionally vague statement. While the statement was mostly positive and seemingly supported the outline, one rich friend of Clintons hinted that she does not like what Secretary of State John Kerry brought back from the negotiating table in Switzerland.

It's a shame how easily we accept a term without thinking, such as the general overview of left-center-right
The slow thinking and uncritical get abused all the time with the rhetorical frame-shifting.
From WITHIN the democratic party the political landscape is more like:
the democratic far left, the democratic left- the democratic center-the democratic right, the democratic far right (aka Overall centrist), a non-existance republican far left, the republican left, the republican center, the republican right and the republican far right.
AMericans LOVE the word centrist but have absolutely no control over how that word is abused

He doesn't represent a viable choice for the nomination in my book.

(36,063 posts)American's can't do shit domestically because they are way way over-invested in military assets and military commitments.
Webb isn't on my list for possible consideration. I'd avoid voting for a ticket that had him as a VP.

(36,418 posts)I will rescind my criticism about his Senate record. Webb was instrumental in passage of a major Veteran's Benefits Bill early in his term. After that, however, I barely heard anything about him, and he was one of my Senators.
