Spying by commercial or hobbyist drones: FAA public comment ends April 24
NPR had a piece this morning about FAA proposed rules that would allow insurance companies to send a drone to check out your house and then call you to let you know they're going to issue you a check right away for damage. This sounds great if you've requested it. Also from the bits and pieces I've read it seems that they're going to allow both commercial and hobbyists to send these drones around with very few restrictions. Like not even many safety restrictions (i.e., one could fall on your head) or privacy restrictions (i.e. pesky neighbor can take pix of you). If true this is going to be a huge invasion of our privacy rights, and once it starts it's going to be much harder to reign in.
Any DUers more knowledgeable about this looked at these rules?
