With an iphone 5, a chest heart rate monitor, fitbit ONE, and a variety of 3rd party apps, I'm not sure what an iwatch would do for me that I can't do already.

Of course if someone gave me one, I'd test it out. preferably the $17K gold version. LOL

All i want a watch to do is tell time.

(BTW: the watch was a gift from my employer for 35 years. The Seiko was around $300. That's as much as i'd pay for a watch. If i didn't get it as a gift, no way would i have spent $1,500 on a watch.)

cannot just walk into a store and walk out with a watch without pre-cording one.

You also have to make an appointment to do an in store try on

It seems to me the screen is too small for anything practical and most iphone owners use that for the time.

that Apple is primarily a marketing behemoth and could likely sell aluminum cubes with a couple of LEDs on front.

My current old Tag Heuer was a gift... Before that I had a self-purchased Seiko that survived for more than 15 years until I lost it in a stall with a 3/4 ton Holstein. Between the cow's hooves and the time entailed in mucking out the entire stall and going through every blade of hay, I chose to give that one a respectable send-off.

where I need to wear a watch. It's an attractive stainless steel model, very simple, and with a flex band. It lives in my dresser drawer, and only comes out if I'm going to a client meeting or on a trip. Otherwise, I have no need for a watch. My cell phone tells the time, and there's a nice digital clock in my car.

Who needs a watch that has a battery that won't even last an entire day. The Timex battery is guaranteed to last 10 years. I don't get it, although I do like the Mickey Mouse animated face you can use on the Apple watch.
