No one in America...

Support for the LGBT Community

"While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect."

I know we have evolved in this some but we have many kicking and screaming mostly through hate. I wish I could say it was not Christians but seems like they are leading the pack and browbeating everyone who does not hate others like they do. I am a Christian who does not hate. It is actually easier.

In a place like NYC all that hand holding impedes pedestrian traffic. Display your affections in private.

Hand holding is fine.

It's for safety reason, as in holding my son's from running out on the street.

Way to miss the point.

For a site like Gawker. Welcome to DU!

Assuming you're not a total troll, DU is a place where Democratic ideals reign, and comedy is best not served without time under one's belt. Enjoy!

Yet, I agree. We need to scream it at the top of our voices for all the world to hear!!!!! Say it loud and say it proud.

I don't know how to bring this over. I want to make this an Op if I can.

It's not just the children, it is about the all of us. It is us William, our dignity. Our dignity.
