Springfield, Mo. Vote Shows The Religious Right Will Go To Cultural War Over LGBT Rights.

The Missouri vote shows that the evangelicals will go to cultural war over LGBT rights. It does not matter if SCOTUS approves gay marriage they plan to defy it and believe they will reverse whatever gains have been made. They believe that over time they will take over and shove their shit down the throats of the country. Realize they will go to any lengths. They simply believe that their stance is a long term holy war for the soul of a nation that is THEIRS by birthright.

They count on the protection of the cross as a political sanctuary from anyone who apposes them. Any opposition is anti religion and anti religious freedom. Essentially their "white supremacist" bigotry and exceptionalism a divine right. And unless you accept their agenda you are unpatriotic and anti American.

Even today they are running candidates with a hidden religious agenda masquerading as "moderate conservative" politicians. They are infiltrating the political landscape at the local, state and federal level. Voter apathy and confusion plays right into their hands.

The greatest generation fundamentally was racist and there are still a lot of them around. The progeny of that generation in the South and also in the north have many of the same views with regards to race. That is how I view it. Even though voting patterns are changing they probably are not fast enough to prevent significant damage to the country.

It wold be nice if the demographic change would happen overnight. The last election seems to show that voter suppression works. And SCOTUS looks like it is supportive of even more draconian voter suppression.

The goal of the GOP is to neutralize this demographic change and kill it so it cannot happen. And the local police forces appear to be infiltrated by blatant racism nationwide and such racism will end up punishing minority voters. Look at how many blacks are in jail.

Because we knew that already. I hadn't expected that the haters would have become less virulent in 2015--just less numerous, and less inclined to hide their insecurity behind a god.
