Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Wednesday night questioned whether Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was ready for the scrutiny of a presidential campaign, citing numerous recent interviews in which Paul was testy with reporters.
Paul told Kelly that "interviews are difficult," especially when they are contentious and the interviewer is "editorializing."
"I dont think it makes for good TV on both sides. And I do lose my cool," Paul said on "The Kelly File," adding that viewers don't want to watch "yelling."
"Those women were not yelling at you," Kelly interjected.
Kelly asked Paul about his heated interview with NBC's Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday, in which he accused her of "editorializing," and about his interview with CNBC's Kelly Evans, when he shushed the anchor. Paul also got "testy" with a male Associated Press reporter on Wednesday.
"Do you regret shushing the reporter?" Kelly asked Paul. "Savanannah Guthries not exactly known for her aggressive unfairness."
"I think the question was unfair," Paul answered. "Do I think that I responded appropriately? You know, I would rather not have contentious interviews. Id rather do 30 minutes with Charlie Roes, laid back in a lazy boy chair."

(39,961 posts)but every now and then, Megyn Kelly hits it out of the park.
She's like Kathleen Parker - never saw a conservative position she didn't like - BUT every now and then a ray of sense brains her, and she has to run with it.

(3,584 posts)I would suggest that Rand Paul simply does not have--nor will he ever have--the Murdoch/Ailes Stamp of Approval, thus the anchors are free to grill him at will.

(39,961 posts)Neither Parker or Kelley exemplify sense often enough to be called rational people.

(20,865 posts)instead of actually covering the subjects he didn't what to talk about... she made the story about the mean media picking on him. The average voter is glad Rand Paul treats the media like crap. They hate the liberal media too.

(20,865 posts)Megyn Kelly has the amazing ability to have important people on her show and ask them crap that doesn't matter. Of all the issues in the world that will effect my life and as president Rand Paul would have the ability to change for better or worse, how he treats assholes like you in the media isn't in my top one hundred. Perhaps Rand was mean/disrespectful due to what they were discussing. You could cover the that Kelly... nah. What a waste of air time.

(30,250 posts)If he thinks that reporters during a presidential campaign are going to question him for 30 minutes in a recliner, then he needs to go back to being an ophthalmologist.
Wasn't he the weasel who questioned Hillary's qualifications to run due to her husband's past infidelity? Typical Right Winger, can dish it out but can't take it. Bunch of hypocritical scums, one and all!!!
He's an idiot with thin skin who can't handle tough questions. He won't be his party's nominee.
