United States President Barack Obama a short while ago made a late-night visit to the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, after he landed at the Norman Manley International Airport on Wednesday evening.
The Hope Road facility, which has been in operation for nearly 30 years, recently reopened it's doors after undergoing a structural upgrade.
The museum is reported to attract some 35,000 visitors per year, and President Obama has now been added to that list.

He walked over to her, gave her a hug and said, "Hi, Natasha, how are you?"
"Photo op," Obama said, posing with Clarke before heading inside the house -- where Marley lived from 1975 until his death in 1981 -- to begin his tour.
The president grinned from ear to ear at the fulfilment of one of his long-held dreams.
The tour begun in the Hologram Room where there is a hologram of Marley, made in 2001 from a photo of the reggae legend at his One Love concert in 1978.
"Oh," Obama said, "and that is Emperor Haile Selassie in the back."
"Yes," Clarke replied
From here, Obama was taken to the Award Room where Marley's Lifetime Achievement Grammy, among other gold and platinum records, are kept.
The president's excitement was evident as upon seeing his favourite album, Exodus, he started singing loudly -- word for word -- the title track.
"He was singing very good," Clarke told the Jamaica Observer.
He wanted to know how long Marley lived at the premises and when he started recording there. Clarke informed Obama that Marley built the studio at the house shortly after buying the property in 1975. The president seemed pleased to learn that the albums, Uprising, Survival and Confrontation - which form a part of the president's collection of Marley's albums - were recorded at the house.
Clarke then challenged Obama to do the 'three-steps-at-a-time' walk, up the 16 flights of stairs leading to the upper floor -- Marley's exercise routine.
"Oh no, I'm just going to do one," Obama said, explaining that he was tired.
At the Shot Room, where an attempt was made on Marley's life on December 3, 1976 -- two days before the now iconic 'peace concert' -- Obama watched a two-minute clip of Marley speaking. In the clip Marley was saying that there was a voice of right or wrong within everyone and that it's "up to you to listen and do the right thing".
Obama nodded in agreement and sung along to the song Ambush In The Night, which Marley wrote after being shot.

(45,358 posts)I know scores of Rand supporting dumbasses who are completely divorced from reality. They have been reduced to flat out lying, which I love because they are so easy to ridicule.
They hate Obama as much as any other Republican, mostly because he is accomplishing so many great things. Sucks to be them.

(297,446 posts)and why so many others who are for Peace instead of war are standing with him. He'd much rather go with Diplomacy.
In his famous speech against the War on Iraq in Oct 2002.. he made it clear that it was Dumb War started by neocons.. that doesn't mean he's not going to try and protect us against the bloody terrorists that were spawned in those misbegotten wars.

(18,115 posts)for each and every day. And we have been engaged in acts of war in many places at once during most of that time.
Obama has already said that the operations on Iraq and Syria will outlast his presidency. He will leave with a perfect record of perpetual war during his 8 years.

We arrived on campus early this morning - brought our hamper with us for food and drink. Folks say it's taking them an hour plus to get here now - using back roads since all main roads are closed. We're waiting for one of our friends and they are moving at like 3mph. We'll be behind the barriers waving when Obama arrives.

United States President Back Obama will get his desire for a cold mug of Jamaican Red Stripe beer on Air Force One.
In fact, 48 bottles of the Jamaican beverage have been delivered to Air Force One for the American president.
A taste of the Jamaican Beer was one of two wishes the president made around 10 minutes before Air Force One landed at the Norman Manley International Airport on Wednesday night.
The other wish to visit the Bob Marley Museum was materialised in a surprise stop at the Hope Road-based landmark just over an hour after Obama touched Jamaican soil.
