Democrats need to be the party of "the big America"

It is already clear that the Republicans are going to be, from here on in, the party of the small-hearted, narrowly-defined vision of America.

This gives the Democrats both a duty and a massive opportunity.

We, as a party, can and must be the party of "the big America"...the America in which everyone who lives here, however recently they have arrived, whatever customs they hold, whatever views they hold, whatever they look and sound like, whether they are wealthy or not, are all, equally "Americans", and all, equally, have a right to be here and a right to have a say in what happens in this country. We need to be the party that says "We Are ALL Americans!"

If we can do this, we can assemble a massive majority of popular support, a majority large enough not only to hold the White House, but also to retake the House as well as the Senate, AND to retake the state legislatures and governor's offices of this country. Not only that, but we can retake control of the political discussion in this country, so that control of those offices actually means something(unlike the 2008-2010 era, where it ended up meaning as little as possible).

We need to be absolute party of inclusion and acceptance of all. We need to make sure we don't ever try to out-exclude those on the far right, those who cling to a 1940's Warner Brothers image of what this country is supposed to be.

4. Agree. Particularly for the left wing part of the party

of which I belong. That's what I believe in. Inclusiveness. As a democratic socialist, I'll continue working toward inclusiveness my whole life. It takes a lot of people of all different kinds of belief systems to continually slay the dragons of ignorance, hatred, exclusiveness, war-mongering, corporatism, racism, sexism, homophobia, et al. Our strength is in numbers.
