Texas anti-choicers are protesting the exact thing that they wanted, and got

That they oppose abortion is a given. But short of that, this is exactly what they wanted. The building will be a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center, designed specifically to meet the state’s 2013 stringent abortion laws. It’s the kind of facility that state lawmakers, and those who oppose abortion, have said will help keep women safer in Texas if they choose to have the procedure.

But now abortion opponents are in a tizzy that a surgical center is getting built at 2140 Babcock Road, right in the medical center on the city’s Northwest Side. One resident who lives near the facility in Dreamhill Estates has sued, so far unsuccessfully, over alleged zoning violations. Abortion opponents frequently protest outside the building and down at City Hall.
....

Perhaps the expectation was they would close. After all, compliance doesn’t come cheap. Planned Parenthood is spending millions to build this surgical center. That kind of expense is exactly why abortion clinics across the state have shuttered, which is exactly why some women will now travel hundreds of miles to San Antonio for abortions.

...
In a recent letter, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller said he was “deeply troubled by Planned Parenthood’s abortion center.” He worried that it and another abortion provider could make San Antonio “the abortion center of South Texas.”

Yes, that could happen since, you know, there are no longer any abortion providers west and south of San Antonio.

Oh wait, no, they really just wanted them to close and remove all access to services.

Assholes.

This state has no idea what it's inhabitants want as a whole nor care since only those that benefit are the ones that ensure they stay in power to make the rule of law that obviously only the 95 percent must obey....

Rep. Fleming talks possible Senate run

Shreveport’s fiscally conservative and military-might-minded Christian-values Congressman wants to graduate if the time is right.

This week, Rep. John Fleming, a doctor and a businessman in Northwest Louisiana, looked into the future of Louisiana politics he considers most bright — one with sitting U.S. Sen. David Vitter at the helm in Baton Rouge, his own House of Representatives seat vacated and his vote in Congress’s upper house.

“I absolutely will run if Sen. Vitter is elected governor,” said Fleming. Vitter hasn’t said who he plans to appoint to his seat if he does follow Gov. Bobby Jindal, and Fleming said he’s not trying to jump the gun — but he believes he knows which way the state is turning.

“Louisiana is becoming a redder and more conservative state, and you see that reflected in the legislature as well as Congress and the governor’s seat,” Fleming said.
