Three months into what allies once confidently described as a shock and awe drive to overcome his rivals and dominate the Republican presidential field, Jeb Bushs early campaigning looks like the juggernaut that wasnt, the New York Times reports.
He is grappling with the Republican Partys prickly and demanding ideological blocs, particularly evangelical leaders and pro-Israel hawks. He is struggling to win over grass-roots activists in Iowa and New Hampshire, states he has visited only a handful of times. And Mr. Bushs undisputed advantage the millions of dollars streaming rapidly into his political organization may not be enough to knock out other contenders.

I prefer to run against any candidate but him or Rubio.

(7,596 posts)...if they hadn't displayed the exact same attitude towards both McCain and Romney. They hated them, bitched about them, and called them RINOs (why their warped little brains believe either one of them is that I'll never know) yet in the end they won and all the morons who complained about them still voted for them in droves.
Jeb's competition strikes me as incredibly weak. His main opponent right now, Scott Walker, has been stumbling on the national stage and comes across as a lightweight. It doesn't matter how much they claim to dislike Jeb. If they feel he would be their strongest GE candidate (which I personally think he would be) and the one with the best shot of winning, they'll vote for him without question.
