(4,112 posts)BTW - in case you missed the post on the LGBT Civil Rights group, I've created a Facebook page. The address is www.facebook.com/equalityforallactivism. Let me know if you have any ideas or want to be added as an admin. I think I'd need at least an email address to do that.

(9,148 posts)Appreciate any grassroots effort to speak to positive civil & equal rights of LGBT & all who suffer at the mouths of Bigots.
The fact that they legislate bigotry under the guise of "religion" means we, who oppose strongly, must never allow them any more forward motion.
I want all States who have and are about to pass laws of bigotry to see & hear what they are up against.
It is our democracy and we need to take it upon ourselves to keep it JUST.
Federal dollars & Tax Exemption MUST be lawfully considered when States and businesses legislate hate, bigotry & discrimination based on religious ideology

(27,461 posts)the junior senator from Massachusetts doesn't seem like someone that would come to mind naturally. And yet this is the second time I've seen this come up at DU.

(9,527 posts)I feel compelled to brag that she's our senior Senator.
Regardless, I don't care if she has put out a statement on this as she's supportive of gay rights, and while this law has gotten a lot of attention, isn't yet doing any proven harm, especially since it doesn't go into effect until July. Warren is most focused on things like Wall Street reform where harm has already been done.
I don't say that to minimize the possible impact of Indiana's bigoted law, but right now it's not something I would expect every politician to put out a press release or twitter/Facebook message about.

(52,166 posts)then you frankly have no business posting about this subject. First, the law Clinton signed which was authored by Ted Kennedy, did not extend this right to anyone but people (no corporations, no non profits). Second, the law Clinton signed required the government to be a party to the suit while this one doesn't. That means that if person goes to a store that is privately run, the owner refuses to serve them, under this law BUT NOT THE ONE CLINTON SIGNED that person would have no right whatsoever to damages if the person who refused service did so for religious reasons. Again, either educate yourself or don't post on this subject.

(95,337 posts)Really?
That's pretty obvious.
And she prefers Elizabeth.
Here's food for thought. If you think that one day you'd like to get Elizabeth Warren supporters to support your candidate it would probably help if you didn't piss them off like this. You attract more bees to honey than vinegar.
Just saying.
