Late Friday, one of our followers asked that I post a DU GD thread (here) about a Wichita Kansas High School Principal embarrassing a down syndrome/autistic (adopted) student named Michael Kelley. Whereas, the special needs kid was complained about by another parent, as having not really earned the varsity letter jacket he was wearing. (For more details on the saga - look at Raw story online article {HERE})

Of course, many of U.S. disagree with the perverse logic. (Especially given the fact that the school in question is the State Champ). After all, the Letters are SOLD in sports shops and have NO requirements. As a result of the abuse upon Michael Kelley we have signed a fellow student of his (Libby Hastings) PETITION to "Give them Letters". And I have news for the snide/ignorant parent....

to Honor Michael Kelley

It is not appropriate for me to start it (my battle with Mitt & gangs is heating up now and I don't want him suggesting my homelessness took advantage) - HOWEVER, I wish someone would start a Crowd/ Cloud funding campaign for Michael Kelley. Where we send Michael something like 100 Jackets, pants, tennis shoes with "We Love You Michael Kelley" (and 3 for the butthole Principal, other student and parents - telling them of their shame {like an upside down letter}).
PLEASE sign the PETITION for Michael Kelley and help spread the word to Give them Letters?

Meanwhile - here's a Youtube video on what happened.....Meanies took his Jacket away and gave him a girl's sweater

to Michael Kelley's Parents

There's another great story within the story here. As it appears that the down syndrome/ autistic child - Michael Kelley - was adopted. Those who adopt are of noble worthiness extra. Especially if one adopts a special needs child.
KUDOs - MUCH - to the parents of Michael Kelley![/]

(7,805 posts)As broke as I am - this is one of those things worthy.
Imagine giving him a bunch of jackets - honoring Michael Kelley...

(7,805 posts)Just think it would be pure that way (although a lot more interesting if someone outside Kansas did it)
