Snip< Target Corp said on Wednesday it will stop selling Amazon.com Inc's Kindle devices, the latest in a series of brawls between the companies fueled by Amazon's increasing competition with brick and mortar retailers.

(1,843 posts)the use of some clever software tools... but then Amazon will push another update, wireless if necessary to reclaim its territory.... then the Kindle can once again have its bond paid with yet another clever software tool... and so on and so forth.
Honestly, I think the Kindles would be happier free than under the thumb of the Amazon overlords. Someone should ask them what they'd prefer.

(12,028 posts)You either have a physical store or you don't. And if you have a physical store, you have certain costs that online stores don't have.

(25,406 posts)How about charging to demo products? With the charge credited back if you buy from them? Adding restaurants or bars? White-glove installation and support? Anything that you can do that online retailers cannot.

(34,825 posts)i haven't found a need to root mine yet, though i have rooted my phone. i've found that i can just side load a ton of apps on the fire without root.

(1,843 posts)would allow you to download updates, change system settings and so on. If I'm not mistaken, Android is based on the Unix kernel.... which is a cousin to Linux?
Ubuntu 12.04, Precise Pangolin, lovin' it so far.

(34,825 posts)taking root on my phone allows me to install apps that can scale the CPU, backup and export apps, as well as creating complete backups of my OS. i'm also able to export apps from my phone to .apk and install most of them on to my fire.
