Did Bibi Blow It? Can Buji Lead? What to Watch for in Tuesday’s Israeli Election.

By Joshua Keating

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dropped a last-minute bombshell into Israel’s election campaign Monday by promising that there will be no Palestinian state as long as he is prime minster. While Netanyahu has made it abundantly clear that he does not support the “two-state solution” in the past, today’s comments are the most definitive yet.

A day before an election that’s looking like a tossup, the statement can only be seen as an eleventh-hour attempt to shore up right-wing support from a leader who’s surprisingly vulnerable. Back in December, when Netanyahu called for new elections, it looked like a shrewd move for the veteran Israeli prime minister. He had just fired the two most prominent moderate ministers in his Cabinet—Finance Minister Yair Lapid and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni. A strong showing in the election, which appeared likely, would have allowed him to form a new government with the right-wing and religious parties he considers natural allies.

Since then, things have changed dramatically, and there’s a decent chance that the tenure of the longest-serving prime minister since the first one, David Ben-Gurion, is coming to an end this week. Before Israeli voters head to the polls Tuesday, here’s what you need to know.

..and counting on a solid majority of wiser minds to bring an end to the desperation of Bibi as well as the 47 Traitors.
Damn this situation has got to find a more reasonable direction to head into the future.
Their election is as critical as ours.

Did the US set it up? I think only Denmark has theirs on a Tues and they had their last one on a Thurs which is when the Brits have theirs. The majority of the world votes on Sunday.

I hope he loses.
