IMPD investigating video of brutal beating at Brookside Park

According to Indianapolis Metro Police, the video showed the vicious beating of a girl and her younger brother.

On Saturday, Indianapolis police were contacted by a George Washington Community High School student, who said she and her 5-year-old brother were attacked at Brookside Park earlier in the day.
The student said she didn't know her attacker's name, but that she recognized her from school.

A video posted on YouTube purportedly shows the attack. In the video, a girl can be seen striking and kicking the victim repeatedly in the face. When the victim tries to leave, the assailant chases and attacks her again – striking the younger brother when he attempts to defend his sister.

The video has more than 200,000 hits and has been shared to Facebook and other social media sites.

2. She has been arrested

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (PIX11) - Police arrested an Indianapolis high school student Sunday after video of a vicious attack on a girl and a young child was posted online, just days after video of a mob attack inside a Brooklyn McDonald’s led to multiple arrests.

The video is hard to watch, and shows a girl walking with her young brother in Brookside Park, located on the city’s Eastside neighborhood. Another girl, identified only as a 14-year-old from the same school, walks up to her and punches her in the face repeatedly as the young boy shrieks in terror.

“What did I do? What did I do?” the victim asks her attacker, “Stop, please stop!” The assembled crowd of cell phone photographers egg the attacker on as she drags her classmate by the hair and stomps on her head. Finally she is restrained by a boy watching the attack, and the victim takes her crying brother’s hand and walks away.

That isn’t the end, however, and after the girl filming dares the suspect to go after the two again, she does — attacking her from behind as the pair try to walk away. As she slams her fist into the girl’s face, the young boy tries to defend his sister but the girl turns on him as well, grabbing his neck with both hands and throwing him to the concrete ground.
