Fundy's Dead Set On Making GOP The Religious Party.

If you believe David Lane the fundies are intent on taking over the GOP. It is obvious that the evangelicals will never give up malling this country officially their theocracy. And in the mix outlaw being LGBT. Unless we defeat them soundly and send them packing they could very well succeed.

They grow more radical and vociferous every day. To them NOT allowing them toe get rid of our Constitution is persecution and violation of THEIR religious freedom. ISIS or the Taliban are not our problem. These radicalized Christians are.

Even as I write they intend to turn the churches into political mills intent on putting in someone like Jindal or Cruz.

3. That will be one issue I look at when deciding who to vote for but it won't be the only issue.

Democrats cannot sit back and say you must vote for me because if you don't the Republicans will take away your civil rights. This gives Democrats too much license to do absolutely nothing and that just is not acceptable to me. I want and demand a representative that will govern, not just sit on their hands and say the other guy will take away your civil rights. Living wages, education, unions, pensions, single payer health care, food stamps, SS, SSDI, civil rights... These are all issues I will be voting on and the Democrats in my district that want my vote had better have good voting records on these issues.

4. For awhile during Shrubs reign it seemed the Dominionists were dominant in the GOP.

But their power has fallen greatly since then.

The Dominionist faction has been on the back burner.

5. Eventually, they'll be at odds with the billionaires who control it now.

Those billionaires made the deal with the fundy devil in 1980. They got lucky with Stupid, a dumb rich boy with no morals who'd take orders but who also knew how to talk to the fundies.

When they insisted on steamrolling the fundies in 2012 with the "electable" Romney, they barely got away with it.

2016 is going to be a lot of fun to watch, I think.

The fundies are a dangerous lot. They are part and parcel of why public education has been so degraded, and charter schools elevated.

8. "We will raise an army for the GOP in 2016" says Republican evangelist Lane

That's a direct quote from Christian Nationalist David Lane!!

Credit
Ryan Donnell for The New York Times

DES MOINES — One afternoon last week, David Lane watched from the sidelines as a roomful of Iowa evangelical pastors applauded a defense of religious liberty by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. That night, he gazed out from the stage as the pastors surrounded Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana in a prayer circle.

For Mr. Lane, a onetime Bible salesman and self-described former “wild man,” connecting the pastors with two likely presidential candidates was more than a good day’s work. It was part of what he sees as his mission, which is to make evangelical Christians a decisive power in the Republican Party.

“An army,” he said. “That’s the goal.”

12. They are really no different than the religious creeps we see in other countries. Far too many

Americans IMO think of religion as an Ozzie and Harriet version. They just fail IMO to see the ruthlessness behind some of the fundies who would make ISIS look like child's play given the chance. And, IMO, far too many Americans are mindless sheep when it come to religion. Religion, is another form of politics using power, control, money and dominance of the flock.

Those people belong locked up in safe, soft rooms in a place surrounded by tall, razor-wire-topped walls receiving regular, massive doses of antipsychotic medication. How the fuck are people this completely disconnected from reality allowed to run around loose and unmedicated? Oh, that's right, if you say the dog talks to you, you're insane but if you say gawd talks to you, that's perfectly acceptable.
