U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn) Blasts Netanyahu For Using Congressional Addresss In New Campaign Ad

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) said his suspicions that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would use his address to Congress last week to bolster his own reelection campaign have come true.

The Israeli Likud Party, which Netanyahu leads, released a campaign advertisement Thursday that includes footage from Netanyahu's speech to Congress last week. Members of Congress are shown applauding as Netanyahu speaks at the House dais.

<...>

Cohen noted that members of Congress are banned from using congressional proceedings for their own campaign ads, arguing a foreign leader should be held to the same standard.

"The use of Congressional proceedings in campaign ads is prohibited for members of Congress, and Prime Minister Netanyahu’s predictable use of this footage is one of several reasons I did not attend his speech. I am saddened that Congress is once again being turned into theater and that the prime minister made our Capitol into a studio for his political ads, complete with teleprompters and a live studio audience," Cohen concluded.

The opportunity to show his middle finger to the President and improve his numbers for the upcoming election in Israel.

It is becoming more clear everyday his decision was a fail/fail instead.

and in a couple news releases that it was actually some operative of Bibi's who approached Boner first about this "speech".

Boner is usually too inebriated to think of such a thing but was ready t go for it because of what it proposed to do for his agenda.

It was Bibi's idea before Boner thought of it.

Along with the media scolds who were busy telling anyone who would listen that the House Republicans were totally within their rights to invite Netanyahu to address Congress. And folks who voiced concerns this looked a lot like the United States endorsing a candidate in another country's election were just a bunch of cynical pot-stirrers.

Well, now that it's plain that that's exactly what happened, Speaker Boehner and the media scolds will be front and center telling Netanyahu to knock it off, right?

Right?

NOT reporting on this is going to convince even more folks you are being Foxified and propagandized.

Sad to say The Media is no longer holding its birthright to be able to pick Presidents any more, really sad for them.

The one positive side of this is that it actually seems to be costing Netanyahu votes in Israel rather than the other way round! There is now a real possibility that he might lose!

think we're gullible and stupid like Bibi does?

We keep sending money to a child who is 67 years old. Isn't it time to wean the Bibi?

We are American and Barack Obama is our President! Some people just don't get it.
