Ann Romney Rocks a $900.00 + t shirt on CBS

http://www.styleite.com/media/ann-romney-reed-krakoff/

Ann Romney’s Reed Krakoff Bird T-Shirt Costs $990

<Today Mitt and Ann Romney appeared on CBS‘s This Morning to talk about Barack Obama,
Osama bin Laden, and a slew of other political things. Sharp eyes over at The Cut noticed
that Ann was wearing a bird-printed t-shirt by Reed Krakoff.

Naturally, we had to get the scoop on the price. According to a saleswoman at Krakoff’s
Madison Avenue store, the silk tee costs $990.>

Maybe I don't understand fashion but I think the shirt looks all right but $900? Please!

Not sure which is worse - that it cost over $1000 with tax, assuming even a very low sales tax. or the fact that I doubt it would actually make anyone look good.

I remember in 2008, that many of the off the rack dresses Michelle Obama wore then sold like hotcakes. They were reasonably priced and very nice - and Michelle Obama always looked great. (Ann Romney is older, but this will NOT start a fashion trend - I hope.)

They really do have a tin ear. Why would you possibly wear a 900 dollar t-shirt on television, where people can get a good look at it. Now, if it was a suit that was $900, people might understand that, but that kind of money for a t-shirt?? These fools are going to continue to sink themselves.

Long long ago I worked for a guy who wore two and three thousand dollar suits. (Everything was cheaper then.) A tailor would come to town, book a hotel suite, and take measurements for days. Then he would fly back to England and make suits. He showed up several times a year.

That is whole problem with the Rmoneys - they have no fucking clue. She probably thinks she was dressing casually.

I am not knocking wealthy people - you can be wealthy and aware of how much you are not like the rest of the country, but in this case, its another example of how out of touch they are.

24. A store review:
Wed May 2, 2012, 12:50 PM
May 2012

"Despite my tendency to disregard artistic prestige obtained via the vulgar mechanisms of brute wealth, I did like stuff. Much of the heavy metal jewelry would be ideal for hand-to-hand combat: shiny gunmetal chain-links of a girth normally seen around the waists of bicycle messengers; bracelets resembling the hardware required to break a psychotic horse.

The footwear, too, is nicely aggressive — for example, armored motorcycle boots with enough buckles for fight-dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Bad” album.

Perhaps the most puzzling accessory was the “Beaver suspenders” ($3,200), a strappy black lederhosen-like contraption with wide beaver-pelt mudflaps on each hip. I couldn’t make sense of it, but it would certainly keep your kidneys warm if you were out poaching mastodons. The video of Mr. Krakoff’s runway show, projected on a wall, was little help. When the model Karlie Kloss, who is nine feet tall and has thighs the circumference of a tangelo, wears this totalitarian beaver-enforcement garment, she looks like the box her dishwasher came in. There is little doubt that if I wore it, people would call me Mr. Baggins and beg me to destroy the Ring. "

"Rich people are not like us. The most compelling luxury at Reed Krakoff is the rare spectacle of enough capital to squander on a learning curve that most people would prefer to master privately, before inflicting their genius on an unsuspecting public. "

She would have looked 1000x better plus related better if she had gone to the Gap and bought a $20 t-shirt from there and wore that.

Romney's people would be smart to keep her out of the public - she's coming across like a real Marie Antoinette with her major disconnect between the elite and working classes.

Sure Michelle Obama will wear the fancy designer duds but she also knows how to rock a beautiful $125 dress from Talbots, J.Crew or Black & White. What's funny is she'll wear the outfit and a few days later that outfit will sell out by the store. I should know, I really wanted to buy a floral dress she wore a few years back from Talbots. It was perfect for Easter and only $100.

35. Michelle's $6800 shirt vs Ann's $900
Mon Jul 30, 2012, 07:41 PM
Jul 2012

Michelle looked fabulous at the semi-casual pre-opening reception. But the J. Mendel jacket alone ran $6800. Her skirt, easily $2000 (the trousers normally pared with the jacket run over $1100). Michelle's $8800 outfit definitely out-shown the simpler Kane creation worn by the Duchess Kate.

Ann Romney wears a $900 t-shirt campaigning.

But honestly, is one really more out of touch than the other???
