WASHINGTON Sen. Bernie Sanders said Wednesday he wasn't concerned about potential 2016 rival Hillary Clinton's ongoing controversy surrounding her use of a private email account for official matters as secretary of state.
"What Hillary Clinton did with her email is, frankly, not one of the great issues I face," the independent senator from Vermont told reporters at a news conference on Capitol Hill about upcoming budget negotiations.
Sanders, the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, dismissed the issue as a media phenomenon that few regular Americans care about.
"There is great deal of interest on this subject from people in the media here on Capitol Hill. Not a whole lot of interest from people back home," he said. "The people back home are precisely interested in what we're talking about how do you create a million jobs, how do you make college affordable, how do you make health care affordable?"

(2,479 posts)A stupid, and nothing thing, something FOX tossed into the fray, and all of the conservative media echo chambers to chewing on, while other news passes us by. Think of all the crap that went on during Bill Clinton's administration, while we were all hearing our media talk about the "curve of his penis," and where it had been.
It's ALL, the right-wing media, led by FOX.

(14,524 posts)... says about it, or even whether he cares about, it's about yet another pile of red meat for the Teapublican Noise Machine to drone on endlessly about, that could have been so easily avoided. It's about the tone-deafness of thinking that somehow one particular person is above the fray.
Bernie Sanders doesn't do stupid shit like that to set himself up for the usual idiotic games played by the scumballs on the right, that is yet another reason why he should be our next President.

I admire Mr Sanders, but I doubt he's never done anything "stupid" in his life

(5,927 posts)It would be nice to elect him as president. I wonder how he would do with the nasty parts of being prez? Like the foreign policy, dealing with all the military-industrial-media complex issues. I would hope that he would surround himself with men and women who shared his morality but were plenty tough and smart. The toughness will be necessary in a presidential campaign. Lots of filth will be thrown around.
