Supreme Court requesting opinion of Attorney-General on detention of Julian Assange

... In June 2014, Assange claimed the district court would nullify the detention decision on detention. The district court rejected his claim. After Julian Assange appealed the District Court's decision, the Court of Appeals also rejected his claim. Julian Assange has subsequently appealed against the decision and asked the Supreme Court to set aside the decision. On March 10, the Supreme Court asked the Attorney-General to expeditiously reply, especially on conduct of investigations and the principle of proportionality.

... A win in the Swedish Supreme Court would - in theory - allow Julian Assange to leave the embassy without fear of arrest over the rape and sexual assault allegations ... But in practice, British police could still hold him for breaking the bail conditions he was under at the time he sought political asylum in the South American nation's London embassy ...
