Now that its been whitesplained as just a manifestation of black culture, it makes perfect sense.

(498 posts)When I work at home I always have the TV on, but I am not really watching it. I heard a station say something in regards to the SAE chant, it wasn't a chant but a song they were singing. By the time I looked up to pay attention it was over.
I don't have time to google so I will leave it up to DU

But to say this chant has a thing to do with rap is denial in the extreme.
Very disappointed by Mika on Morning Joe. Very disappointed in over-looking the sororiety members participating in the chant. Sadly, I expect this from white guys but it really hurts when white women acquiesce to out-right bigotry.

Even if it was a rap song she still should have known better than to say the N word. Anybody with a minuscule of common sense knows how hurtful that word is

(16,124 posts)It has zip to do with "Black Rappers" and everything to do with a culture that says overtly that 'racism is over" but quietly condones it when it manifests.
The news story in this is that someone actually stepped in and gave consequences for it. That doesn't happen all that often.
