If only the militarized media would talk with such anticipation and fever about peace talks as they do about war talk.

4. ''Money trumps peace.'' -- appointed pretzeldent George Walker Bush, Feb. 14, 2007

That's something that only a war criminal and warmonger would say.

Yet, "money trumps peace" are the very words of George W Bush uttered Feb. 14, 2007 at a press conference in which not a single member of the callow, cowed and corrupt press corpse saw fit to ask a follow-up.

While Corporate McPravda ignored the remark and accompanying smirk fir the last eight years, I remember Cindy Sheehan tried to bring it to our nation's attention.

I've noticed, G_j, on DU this sort of post is getting labeled "Conspiracy Theory" more and more these days. Seems someone in the bowels of secret government doesn't want to lose their goldbrick of a job.

7. JFK's New Frontier

Guy was carrying FDR's New Deal forward.

The peaceful exploration of space was the best thing to happen to jobs in history. At its peak, 400,000 Americans were employed in the Apollo Project.

Imagine if President Kennedy had lived, where the nation would be today? I believe, if we could figure out how to the moon and back, we could face any problem on earth and solve it -- from ending hunger, poverty and ignorance to creating a lasting peace.

Problems today's GOP considers intractable (see Poppy Bush inaugural "More will than Wallet&quot such as joblessness, poverty, crime, would be tackled, instead of ignored, like they've done with public education. And the treasures accumulated since would be used to make life better for everybody on earth instead of sitting in a secret Swiss bank account.

But, no. The conservatives killed the New Deal after LBJ and the Great Society. For the space program, it started with Nixon. Instead, they gave the store away to War Inc, who sank the national treasure into the "Money trumps peace" crowd.

For some reason, this topic must bore DU.

in peace we would never be in any of these 'regional wars'. Money trumps life. Horrible lesson to learn, but that is the way plutocracies work when controlled by the stock holders.
