I woke up this morning strangely wondering if today's Republicans had been around 80 years ago they might have invited Hitler to speak before Congress and given him a standing ovation. Giuliani and Palin would have called him a strong, decisive leader.

These Republicans seem to admire aggressive authoritarianism more than anything. They've never had much time or talent for diplomacy; I guess if all you have and want is a big hammer, everything looks like a nail.
