There are so many that the right wing cooked up, that there's an almost endless supply out there on the Internet.
Any day now, I expect to hear that Bill isn't Chelsea's dad or that Hillary had people murdered or that HRC is a secret lesbian. How long will it take for someone to Google up that nonsense and other rumors, half-truths and slander? I suspect we're going to hear it all again. No matter how much positive information about Clinton gets posted, someone will find anything they can try to use against her.
Did Hillary vote for the Patriot Act? Why yes, along with all but one other Senator. Odd, huh?

(710 posts)Actually, no need to make up stories about her when we have an endless supply of real stuff to hate about her.
She should be rightly called from now on the third-way shill of corporate America
randys1
(16,286 posts)Since I am likely not going to be able to vote for my candidate in November 16, Bernie Sanders, I will vote for WHOEVER the dem candidate is because if a repub takes the WH and and House and Senate, they will overturn Roe and kill Women (after appointing SC justice obviously)
and they will kill all civil rights and voting rights and other stuff
kinda simple for me
politicman
(710 posts)And its also simple for me, if Hillary becomes the nominee, then I will be staying home on election day.
I'm done voting for a corporate shill, either the party recognises what we stand for and gives us a left candidate or the party finds someone else to make up for my not voting.
I am progressive, I believe in progressive ideas that help the 99%, I'm done being controlled by the 1% who give us a choice of 2 corporate shills to choose from every 4 years.
I'm done helping the 1% destroy our democracy little by little every 4 years voting for 'the lesser evil candidate', I'm done being complicit in giving the 1% more and more control over our lives by continuing to fall into the trap they have set for us where we vote to give them what they want.

(35,773 posts)I totally agree!
Er, uh, wait. What? Hmmmmmmm.
politicman
(710 posts)It is you third-way dems that will be making the world worse.
Learn the lessons of the past and don't put up another corporate shill for the white house, because that will just end up causing a civil war in the democratic party.
You have had control of the party for a long time now and the party just keeps bowing down to the 1% more and more.
If you third-way dems still believe that worshipping corporate America will benefit you, then go ahead and nominate Hillary, who knows the 1% may surprise you and throw a few more crumbs your way for you to keep the belief going.
HuckleB
(35,773 posts)Yet, you just labeled me. That tells me that you're not someone who cares about making things better. You want to be right, and what works and improves things, well, F-that. Lame sauce.
VERY LAME SAUCE.

politicman
(710 posts)I'm going to try a new radical concept, I will be voting for a candidate if I feel that candidate represents the 99%.
If no candidate can fit that description, then they will not get my vote.
If a candidate for any office wants my vote from now on, then they will have to earn it by standing up for the 99% rather than bowing down to the 1%.
randys1
(16,286 posts)in your place, someone who will be directly effected by rightwing president
politicman
(710 posts)Oh that's great of you, find a minority to replace my vote by convincing that person to choose to vote for minority issues that favour them WHILST at the very same time voting for to make themselves even more of a slave to the 1%.
Cause that what will happen if they vote for a Hillary presidency.
How very noble of you, ha
randys1
(16,286 posts)politicman
(710 posts)Well what do you call working 2 and 3 jobs just to be able to live while every year your wage keeps going down, and all the while the 1% getting favourable legislation from Congress and the White House to keep raking in all-time profits?
Not to mention, continuing the cycle of giving the 1% even more power every election cycle to continue to have more and more control of our lives through our finances.
HuckleB
(35,773 posts)It does not make your "solution" viable in any way. No one even knows what your "solution" is, other than the fact that it's only approved by you, and no compromise is allowed.

Or, if you are an import, all I can say is people who choose to move here are usually more optimistic and hopeful than the rest of us. Not less.

(38,613 posts)I've seen thread after thread claiming these posts were out here. Now at last I've seen one.
One.
It's still a stupid idea. You perhaps don't appreciate how much your vote counts at the local level.
politicman
(710 posts)Oh I appreciate that every single vote counts and I believe that every vote is sacred, and that why I want to use my vote for the good of the 99%, not to keep legitimising the control the 1% has over our party and the country.
If any candidate whether it be at local level or national level can convince me that that are fighting for the 99% with their policy decisions, then they will get my vote. If they cant, then they wont get my vote.
Its as simple as that, a candidate needs to earn my vote by doing the right thing by the 99%, the days of them getting my vote simply because they have a 'D' next to their name is over, especially since that 'D' means nothing now that the 1% have control of the 'D' party.

politicman
(710 posts)I know that she has bowed down before the 1% when it came to the keystone vote?
I know that she has bowed down to the MIC 1% when it came to the Iraq war vote, and other 'interventions' since then.
I know that all her campaign funds come from the 1%, hmm, I wonder what strings come attached with that money.
Need I go on?
Wake up will ya, Hillary doesn't even hide the fact that she bows down to corporate America.

(710 posts)A true sign of a corporate shill is a candidate that can raise the most money from the 1%.
Are you so nieve to believe that the 1% will throw so much money towards one candidate if they did not believe that they will be handsomely repaid through policies that benefit them?
Isnt that the argument we used against Romney when his campaign was entirely funded by the 1%, so why is it any different when it comes to Hillary?

that she used the primary voters of Michigan and Florida as play things during the '08 campaign
that Americans have not voted a former Sec. of State into the White House since Buchanan
that the only campaign she has ever won was for her Senate seat in a state that almost no (D) could lose
as you say, an almost endless list

(14,733 posts)Is it a lie that HRC used personal emails instead of the official ones? Is it a lie that she voted for the Patriot Act or war with Iraq? You seem to be conflating things that really happened with strawmen you're making up, such as 'secret lesbians'. Isn't that a rather dishonest tactic?

(45,251 posts)that was bad.
The Iraq War vote alone more than suffices. The speech puts her way over the top.
And, yes, I know she recently finally said it was a mistake. But, when I comes to a war vote that killed and mamed thousands and displaced maybe over 100,000, "oops" doesn't cut it.
If other Dem Senators who voted for the war and the Patriot Act were running for President and Duers praised their votes while ignoring Hillary's you might have a point about the votes of other Dem Senators. As it is, their votes are not relevant to this Presidential primary season.
She, however, does seem to be running. And what is more relevant to a Presidential wannabe that judgment about taking the nation into war?

But I was talking about those repeating arguments from rw blogs.

(45,251 posts)apparently blame her for voting for the Patriot Act.
Well, good luck with all that.
But, whether or not Hillary is the enemy of the GOP, and I personally don't think she is the GOP fiercest enemy,, she is far from the only enemy of the GOP. And I hope like anything that other Democrats run in the primary and beat her Third Ways to Sunday.

(31,849 posts)"Watch out for those flying goal posts!"
The neither the OP, nor the rw blogs being quoted from, mention the P-Act.
But you may have a point ... what does rand say? Maybe, that's behind / beneath this?
merrily
(45,251 posts)From the OP:
Did Hillary vote for the Patriot Act? Why yes, along with all but one other Senator. Odd, huh?
In any event, as you no doubt realized, the point of my prior comment was not whether or not the OP mentioned the Patriot Act anyway.
I have no clue what Rand said relative to "behind/beneath us" and also no clue what you are trying to convey to me by adverting to Rand. But, it's okay. I probably won't find Rand persuasive either.

To wit, and with respect to Calvin Trillin of the Nation:
To the pillory, with that Hillary!
Never liberal enough for you and me
She was a member, dont you remember,
When much younger voted for the GOP
No Lizzie Warren, is our Hillary
Shes a neo-lib and not like you and me
She is no Sanders, they say she panders
To her fellow Dems that form the DLC
She's weak on race, some make that case
but better overall than Sarah P
But if you dont vote, hope its understood
That the perfect just might drive out any good.
