Most Want President to Have a College Degree

A new Public Policy Polling survey finds that 62% of voters think it’s important for the President to have a degree, compared to only 31% who think it doesn’t matter.

Interesting: “There’s a large partisan divide on the issue: Democrats by an 81%-14% spread think it’s important while Republicans are evenly divided on the matter at 45%-45%.”

That most of the party that values science thinks it's a good idea, while the party that distrusts it and thinks policy should derive from the Bible doesn't care.

in interactions with people. He appears to take very little enjoyment in life, and I've not discovered anything in a bio about his interests that are not connected to politics. Often wondered how he came to adopt that relationship to the world.

His governing 'success', as it might be construed in WI, is actually a consequence of implementation of A.L.E.C. white papers in the legislature and WIGOP control of the courts.

3. I find those numbers troubling. So few find university important in a world leader?

A college degree today is like a high school diploma seventy years ago--it's a baseline educational goal for most people. Sure, there are "different learners" -- there are a few in my own family -- for whom university just wasn't the thing, but completing university suggests a willingness to set a goal and achieve it. It's an indicator of discipline and let's people know that the person with the degree has a modicum of basic knowledge (hopefully--unless they partied through college and got someone else to take their tests...).
