Anyway, one even wrote his comment in uppercase. Another went so far as to go on a personal attack. But as I read this ad hominem, I recall a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

All day, I only got a single comment, but then the sun sets and BOOM! Swarmed. It was pretty funny, actually.

Someone who presents specific GOP talking points to undermine SSI and is making other suspicious claims (to be "a Union Member who is Third Way..." - yet never puts any one post that is trollish enough to get a Jury to act on it. If you start to underscore that they are seeding GOP propaganda, they run off and post something that sounds Democrat. They have a lot of posts here.

I don't normally accuse people here of being stealth GOP propaganda seeders. There are a lot of people I disagree with in the extreme. A few people I think are jackasses, especially where women's issues are concerned. But this is the only person I think has built up DU credentials to plant GOP talking points when they think they can get away with it.

If it is someone with less than 100 posts, you can PM someone on the current MIRT team (listed in "Announcements&quot . MIRT changes every three months, so you have to check the current list. You can also "Ask the Administrators," but is you 'call someone out' your post can be hidden, even in that forum.

By the way the person was apparently watching what I was up to - they juried my suspicious comment on the basis of my criticism being a "Koch/GOP" strategy out of a thread full of comments that were calling him/her out. I was the one that called attention to the history, though.

Glad I now know how to follow through when I see something that sketchy. By the way, if that person is more than one account, would an investigation automatically check for that? The weird way of supposed long-time DU denizens calling Leftists Koch shills (as if mirroring back/projecting what they are) would seem to apply to more than one person in that thread. But it's only that one person where I'm able to link back to a past posting history as a basis for an investigation.

There are some posts that are truly vile and we really do try to act as quickly as possible so others don't have to see it, especially the targets of the venom. Honestly, most are just stupid, run-of-the-mill crap or spam, but every now and again, we get a real POS who makes us focus more on incoming than participating in threads.

You are welcome, but most of us do it because it does make DU a better place. It isn't really that taxing. The next round is coming up in April, think about joining. It's kinda fun too!

That board was supposed to be free of racist posts, but, in practice, it turned out that the owners did not delete anything or ban anyone. There's just so many times I want to read, with an implied okay from the owners of the board, that slaves got fed and housed, so it was all good--and that number is zero.

If this board becomes a place where I am supposed to debate a post like that or just let it stand unrefuted and uncondemned, I will not be able to abide staying here.

49. Yeah, it has been a busy time the past few weeks.

Sadly, some of the more disgusting ones have slipped by us for more than a few minutes. Usually, we can nail them pretty fast.
