O'Reilly friend: Lies don't matter. "O'Reilly is an entertainer." So... Not a journalist?

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/02/27/yes-oreillys-fabrications-are-damaging-fox-news/202696

Excerpt:
""O'Reilly is an entertainer and everything he does is totally subjective, including his memories," observed former Washington Post columnist, and O'Reilly friend, Sally Quinn. "To attack him is simply to increase his ratings and the sales of his phenomenally popular books. Lighten up, everybody.""

O'Reilly's own friend is making the excuse that the lies aren't so bad: He's just an entertainer!

I think, this is the perfect angle how to approach this situation:
"Hey, do remember when that entertainer managed to land an interview with President Obama?"
"Hey, have you seen the Youtube-clip of that entertainer freaking out because the teleprompter is broken?"
"Have you heard? There is an entertainer who cuts the mic of his guests when he doesn't like what they are saying."

O'Reilly claims to be a journalist: If he were a journalist, he would be measured by the standards of journalists. But the standards don't apply to him, because he's just a "journalist", not a journalist "journalist".

I would like to ask the DU-community to come together in this:

Let go.

Bid farewell to journalist and Fox News-host Bill O'Reilly.

Please welcome entertainer and Fox News-host Bill O'Reilly.

One half entertainment, one half pandering to those who are driven by confirmation bias.
