Hard to have much pity on their economic woes. Needless to say, we won't be moving across the border to that bassackwards Teahole.

Funny it wasn't like that when WI was consistently losing fights for 40 hour work week.

If we want to make mockeries about recent history...I'd say don't worry about your Gov. recent history promises in a couple of months he'll end up jailed.

Walker hasn't won by much over 52% of the tallied votes. Obviously he's much opposed here by dems, but broad-brushing WIDems as idiots along with the teahadis that voted for Walker is callous.

It also doesn't take into account how at -every- turn the WIGOP has used its total control of all branches of state gov. to make sure they have ~5% structural advantages. Which speaks nothing about outside money and outside support on rw-media.

it lets the conniving connivers do optimization

As told below re Walker elections...you'll see that Walker only draws 52% of the tallied votes. ALL his elections would be reversed on not much more than a 3% swing in turnout or voter orientation towards ideas, personality etc.

An important question is why out of state democrats seem to think the gap is bigger and that Walker is much more of a "Liberal Slayer".

He's a petty tyrant whose party controls the governorship, both houses of the legislature AND the state courts.

The alignment allows ALL considerations to lean toward the republicans and Walker and the Fitzgeralds are ramming it down the people's throats.

This country has a serious problem with being taken in by slick, smiling, "guys you'd want to have a beer with". It's time to kick our obsession with the sorts of facades that are usually wielded by sociopaths anyway. You may not want to "have a beer" with an introvert, but that person probably gives serious thought to the problem at hand. You may not like that the "geek" is smarter than you, but the fact he or she studied harder in school just might mean he or she can solve complicated policy problems. You may prefer people with the fake smile, but perhaps "eeyore" has more of a handle on the life-and-death stakes of his or her social policy decisions.

I remember when the Internet revolution was depicted as "Revenge of the Nerds", and the traditional frat boy network was baffled about how all the nerds they had bullied in school were now more successful than they were. At that time society recognized the value of people with math and computer science skills. Now is the time for society to take a broader recognition of those introverts who are willing to "do the research" and "do the work". Perhaps schmoozing and speech-making is not the number one skill we need in a policy-maker and legislator!

Just a thought...

It's like you cross some invisible barrier, and suddenly everything is decrepit, run down, sad and dying. Towns where half the stores are boarded up.

Yet you'll still see a few "Thank You Walker!" signs or even billboards! The stupid is strong over there.

I will not advise that Governor Mark Dayton be drafted for the nomination. However, if it were to happen I would gladly call him President Mark Dayton. Go for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, he would be great too.
