If the SC rules against ACA federal subsidies in states that don't offer an exchange it will

effectively cause the working poor in those states to lose coverage. Besides people losing coverage, insurance companies in those states will increase their rates so healthcare insurance would be even more unaffordable in those states.

An easy solution would be for those states to setup their own exchanges, not very likely, since most of those states are republican legislatures.

The Congress could rectify the law and remove the so-called ambiguity about the subsides, also not very likely, since the republicans in Congress hate this president.

The most ideal situation would be for Congress to institute single payer, but based on Congress it won't happen.

So the fate of millions to become uninsured will be decided by the SC.

Kennedy and Roberts will be the deciding votes, and based on Kennedy's record with regard to the ACA I would not count on his vote.

The Roberts vote is a flip of the coin.

I wonder if people in those affected states who have coverage because of the federal subsidies will do anything about it?
