See, I'm not convinced that he does, but if he says he does then I suppose reasonable people could disagree.*
*This line of attack worked brilliantly for George W. Bush in 2004, and I think it should be pursued by Team Obama.

(31,849 posts)Taking from the host without contributing anything benefical to the host. Contrasted with the more healthy Plover/Crocodile relationship. The Plover flies into the crocodile's mouth a picks at the decaying meat caught in the croc's teeth.
I have started using this analogy to explain/correct the falseness of the 1%er characterizations. The teaparty/gop would have everyone believe that wealthy = 1%er; when nothing could be further from the truth. For simplicity's sake, Mitt = Tick; whereas, Buffett = Plover.
But for accuracy's sake, I suppose there are times when the Plover (intentionally or unintentionally) hurts the croc and/or the croc (intentionally or unintentionally) eats the Plover - just as there are times when a working class person has harmed romney, and where a Buffett business practice has hurt a working class person. But that is not the rule.

(27,787 posts)He's rich enough to live anywhere he wants.
He thinks that a worker in the US is the same as a worker in any other country.
He sees himself as one of the world's decision makers. He and those like him are entitled to make decisions that crush the lives of other people.

Plus if I'm ever bothered by any icky poor or darkly complected people I can just call the cops that I don't pay taxes to support and they'll take care of them for me.

(27,630 posts)Romney is such a sell-out.
In terms of image, Bush is way more of an America-lover than Romney. If we are talking strictly imagery, Romney ranks well below John Kerry as an "America-lover".

(12,287 posts)I think he thinks he's above it all and shouldn't even pay any taxes because anything that America needs doesn't have a thing to do with him. Therefore he doesn't care. He and his kind think (know) they can buy whatever they need.
Like when oil execs need our armies to protect their interests in foreign countries, they buy it.

(2,682 posts)Mittens is running for President ONLY to fulfill Mormon prophesy that one of their own would be President and would rule not only this country, but the rest of the world. This act to further Mormonism is what allows him the privilege of Lying for the Lord in order to achieve his/church's goal. In this respect, he is no different than Santorum who was shilling for the Catholic Church.
I'm always suspicious of people who seek political power to further religious aims.
