I guess I'm alone for Hillary.

judging from the negative reviews.

I like her style, passion, and experience. I especially like her intelligence.

I think as POTUS she would work for women and family rights.

But mostly, I think she would work harder in high heels and makeup than most POTUS, since a lot more would be expected of her.

So, as others in this thread have already pointed out, you are far from alone.

The problem at DU/GD is a small but very vocal and hateful group that tag-team each other in seeing how many lies and distortions they can post about HRC in an effort to destroy her in our minds and keep us home on election day. I don't know how they manage to avoid being tombstoned, but apparently each post individually doesn't trigger that -- yet. Some day someone in MIRT will look at the overall record, or maybe the band of posters will treat us to a meltdown the way R just did and be escorted to the door that way.

I have a dream, anyway.

Thu Feb 26, 2015, 09:37 AM

Numbers don't prevent the far left from getting candidates elected in presidential primaries. Lets look at how they have worked out since 1980:

Kennedy: Lost in the primary
Hart and Jackson: Lost in the primary
Mondale: Trainwreck in the general election
Gephardt: Last place in a 5 person race
Brown, Kerrey, Tsongas, Harkin: All lost. Harkin is 5th in a 5 person race. Clinton elected and reelected
Bradley: lost, but Gore was pretty good. He lost too
Dean, Edwards, Gephardt, Kucinich: All lost
Kucinich, Dodd, Biden, Edwards: All lost. Obama came from the left. He was elected and reelected.

Where are those far left victories? When will they deliver on their talk?

And while I am at it, I base a certain amount of my distaste for HRC on her husband. His tenure, with such glowing accomplishments as NAFTA, "free" trade with China, the end of "welfare as we know it", the repeal of Glass-Stegall, the passage of the Commodity Futures Modernization act , the Telecommunications act, and on and on and on set the stage for the disaster of an economy we have right now. And back in the day we were always told that HRC was a key player in the administration so I think it's fair to assume she would continue her husband's disastrous legacy.

I also think she is very intelligent, hard working, and has excellent leadership qualities. That said, there are still seemingly legitimate serious concerns about her that I haven't seen legitimately addressed like the TPP and ties to Wallstreet that have been brought up.
