I think. He said "I'm going to go pee." That's why he was in the bus station.

Is this not a public place?

That can cause permanent injuries the city should be liable for.

That man could be a mentally impaired man for all that p.o.s. cop knows, and he just throws him to the ground and slaps him across the face for being lippy??

OMFG. That p.o.s. cop needs to be FIRED and the City sued for assault and battery.

Next time I hear a politician say that we need more cops on the street and we need more funding for more cops, I"m going to write them and say F*** NO!!

That was just vicious.

Did anyone else catch the last 10 seconds or so where another person off-camera asked the couple if they had seen what happened? And the guy half of the couple replied that he got it on video.

It also struck me that the couple were frightened.

I can't help but think that the question of cops getting worse lately is the wrong one. Cops have always been like that. It's just that the recipients of LE "largesse" has widened to include those who had previously enjoyed a more privileged position. And, of course, the video cameras that so many people are carrying around now.

Anytime a cop does something wrong, they can always get away with it by saying those magic words:
"I feared for my life".
Well, OK then. You're a hero, not a villain.

21st century amerikan gestapo.....and it's going to get worse for all.....some already have faced this type of draconian 'justice', apprehension, detention for many, many years. Others like this hapless gentleman will be informed of their non rights very soon. This POS represents the protect and serve mentality NOW. Protect and serve the 1%. I actually don't feel sorry for the uninformed and the willfully misled that gobble up Foxsnooze. They are in for a rude awakening. Well, most anyway.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/fort-lauderdale/fl-fort-lauderdale-cop-slap-folo-20150224-story.html

Excerpt:

At a Tuesday morning press conference, Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley said the department is conducting an internal affairs investigation into the incident.

Victor Ramirez, the veteran officer who slapped the 58-year-old homeless man after knocking him to the ground, has been put on administrative leave, Adderley said.

The case is being presented to the Broward State Attorney's Office for review, and Ramirez, 34, could face criminal charges if it determines he committed wrongdoing.

The video comes on the heels of a wave of negative publicity generated by new city ordinances that restrict public feedings of the homeless. Passed by the City Commission in October, the ordinance has led to several citations of homeless advocates, including 90-year-old activist Arnold Abbott.

"I'm just doing my job", its the law

Around here the local ordinances fines alone, generate almost a million a year revenue (to a community of less then 15k residents) from people who can least afford it.
