Buying jewels "on credit" = money/bribe laundering? Jeb? Newt?

Something about wealthy political powerhouse men buying jewels on credit sends a shiver up my bullshit detector.

Y'all DO know that buying things "on credit" and having others pay the bill is a way of collecting an under-the-table payoff. It's actually a cleaner transaction than having your benefactor give you a cash "loan" then quietly cancelling the repayment. Now that offshore accounts are being scrutinized one simply cannot rely on direct-deposit...
