Never noticed a time associated with a bill. I would assume that March 15th would mean by midnight.
Banks will do anything to levy a fee. My guess is that has to do with more and more people paying online, possibly up to the 'minute' that bill is due. I pay all of my bills online. Usually days or weeks in advance because banks are our enemies and I don't trust them.
Time for an new round of extreme banking regulations.
Wait... Voters lost Congress, the last word in regulation, in 2010.
Oh well...

(16,113 posts)I got a cable bill in the mail 2 days after it was due. Thankfully, I had it on auto-pay a week before, so I didn't have to deal with the horseshit.

(5,417 posts)I guess this doesnt bother me. Plus I was late paying a bill one time and I got the late fee reversed after one phone call.
Plus my card I use the most has no late fee. They have high standards and will cut you off if you pay late but there is no fee.
