And comments from Tom Dispatch:
And now for the last TD Oscar of this Sunday, the much-prized Night of the Living Dead Oscar goes to Jeb Bush, who walks the red carpet bringing with him a crew of Iraq War zombies, including (god save us) Paul Wolfowitz, as his "new" set of foreign policy advisors. It ensures that, if the 2016 election goes his way, we'll be granted our wish for Iraq War 19.0. Maureen Dowd of the NYTimes catches it all in these few paragraphs. Tom
"Jeb, too, wanted to bolster his negligible foreign policy cred, so the day of his speech, his aide released a list of 21 advisers, 19 of whom had worked in the administrations of his father and his brother. The list starts with the estimable James Baker. But then it shockingly veers into warmongers.
"Its mind-boggling, but theres Paul Wolfowitz, the unapologetic designer of the doctrine of unilateralism and pre-emption, the naïve cheerleader for the Iraq invasion and the man who assured Congress that Iraqi oil would pay for the countrys reconstruction and that it was ridiculous to think we would need as many troops to control the country as Gen. Eric Shinseki, then the Army chief of staff, suggested.
"Theres John Hannah, Cheneys national security adviser (cultivated by the scheming Ahmed Chalabi), who tried to stuff hyped-up junk on Saddam into Powells U.N. speech and who harbored bellicose ambitions about Iran; Stephen Hadley, who let the false 16-word assertion about Saddam trying to buy yellowcake in Niger into W.s 2003 State of the Union; Porter Goss, the former C.I.A. director who defended waterboarding.
"Theres Michael Hayden, who publicly misled Congress about warrantless wiretapping and torture, and Michael Chertoff, the Homeland Security secretary who fumbled Katrina.
"Jeb is also getting advice from Condi Rice, queen of the apocalyptic mushroom cloud. And in his speech he twice praised a supporter, Henry Kissinger, who advised prolonging the Vietnam War, which the Nixon White House thought might help with the 1972 election."

WASHINGTON I had been keeping an open mind on Jeb Bush.
I mean, sure, as Florida governor, he helped his brother snatch the 2000 election. And that led to two decade-long botched wars that cost tens of thousands of lives and trillions of dollars. The nation will be dealing for a long time with struggling veterans and the loss of American prestige. Not to mention that W. let Wall Street gamble away the economy, which is only now finally creeping back.
But, all that aside, shouldnt John Ellis Bush have the right to make the case that he is his own man?
In his foreign policy speech in Chicago on Wednesday, Jeb was dismissive toward those who want to know where he stands in relation to his father and brother. In fact, he said, mockingly, this is a great, fascinating thing in the political world for some reason.

(13,877 posts)Father's Keeper and War-Addled Apologist. I would never vote for a Republican, but I hoped, in the name of some sanity for our nation as a whole, that the Republican nominee would be at least Center Right. He's not even Tea Party. And fascinating is not the word that comes to mind. It is the insanity of three generations of Nazi-funded, traitor to US wealth spent on becoming President.
Every time Bill is mentioned, maybe even more, the name of Prescott Bush and Nazi Germany needs to come up...with links. This was on the backs of the Jews and where the "banksters" got their immense power.

(55,745 posts)Jeb Bush: 'I don't understand' why anyone is upset about the NSA
The Week, February 19, 2015
Likely GOP presidential candidate Gov. Jeb Bush is eager to distinguish between himself and his ex-president father and brother. But comments he made on Wednesday about the creepy spying practices of the NSA suggest he shares their support for a robust surveillance state:
(T)he NSA metadata program... contributes to awareness of potential terrorist cells and interdiction efforts on a global scale. For the life of me, I don't understand [how] the debate has gotten off track, where we're not understanding and protecting we do protect our civil liberties, but this is a hugely important program to use these technologies to keep us safe. (National Journal)
Despite Bush's confident assessment of the effectiveness of the NSA, reports suggest the mass surveillance program "ha(s) no discernible impact" in preventing terrorism. Bonnie Kristian
