Cooperation and competition

Human beings have enormous flexibility in their choice of behavioral strategies (e.g. cooperation vs competition). They have far less flexibility in their choice of goals to which those strategies are applied (e.g. growth vs growth...) Both situations stem from the adaptations we developed to fulfill the evolutionary imperatives of survival and reproduction.
