probably has a strangle-hold type clause in his contract where he can't be fired or cancelled without a major war between him and MSNBC. Therefore, they have to shuffle him around and the low-on-totem-pole positions either get cancelled or reassigned. I don't think they netwrok has a lot of choice on how he goes, probably the same with Matthews.

Bet they'd love to be rid of them both.
