According to her site, since so much interaction is happening on Twitter, it's been decided to close the chat and go exclusively in the Twitter format. Probably couldn't find anyone who wanted to keep shoveling the daily piles of shit that were deposited there.

Most of those "bestsellers" were bulk buys. Koch used to buy them by the thousands and give them out as favors at the rubber chicken fundraising dinners.

The NYT bestseller list changed their criteria to annotate bulk buys once they figured out that so much schlock and dreck floating to the top wasn't as a result of individual reader sales.
