Not the only stupid alcohol law. Several years back feds extorted states to enacting very stupid one (same method used f/ 55mph laws): it is now illegal, I think in all states, to carry an open bottle of alcohol anywhere in your vehicle. Not even in trunk.
Don't know what MADD lobbyist got this thru, but it encourages over-indulgence. If you go on trip & take along a 25 yo scotch, are you going to finish it off or leave it behind when you go home?

Texas allows 500 Walmarts to stink up the state then Walmart complains about the rules ?
