There was a lady on New Day (CNN) 2 days ago - didn't get her name or the name of her book (if there was one) (furnace men came in exactly when she came on)....and you could've knocked me over with a feather with her explanation (not her belief) of what was happening...
After a heartbreaking incident, I was consoled only when I found out by reading Revelation that Jesus was coming back, according to Hal Lindsey in his new (at that time) book, "The Late Great Planet Earth." Everything I saw and read in the news were signs that it would be any day. Being Catholic, did not read the bible and knew nothing about Jesus coming back. I bought copies of Lindsey's book and gave them away. I stopped short of starting WWIII.
I knew nothing about the Islamic view of End Times, and am learning a bit more. Don't know where to look, if you know, let me know.
Then I got pregnant again and didn't want the world to end. End of my story.
Anyway, getting back to "the lady," she said that Islam holds Jesus in high regard, he being the 2nd greatest prophet, and they hold with Revelation in the New Testament. The Jihadists so hate the world the way it is now that the Sunnis who were chased out of Iraq by Americans, started ISIS, are explaining the End Times to any who will listen. The reason they are provoking every country in the world is that they want a World War, the Final Battle at Armegeddan, and Jesus will come back and lead the Islamists (not the Christians) to victory. They need to create the right conditions. They want to draw us into war, boots on the ground, etc.
I think Jesus from Revelation isn't going to cooperate unless he gets some backup from solar/space/earth. Move over, Pat Robertson.
History2 goes over this stuff all the time, but not as the reason for ISIS' war on the world.
Reasons for their hatred are many. Nonacceptance of their clothing and prayers by people, mainly Christians and Jews, poverty, less opportunities, and the decadent lifestyles we have.
Till now I thought that Christians were trying to bring about End Times by contributing to rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. Never figured that Islam held beliefs quite differently.
Strange isn't it. Jews are waiting for Messiah, Christians waiting for Jesus, and now Islam wants Jesus to return.

PSSST, I got news for ya, you are the savior you have been waiting for. Save yourselves for the sake of the earth and all it's inhabitants.

(10,044 posts)that belief in the End Times is not a belief you can tamper with once someone has it in their heads that they know when or how to bring it about.
They will no doubt cover this at the President's conference. I think (our house was in a bit of confusion, no heat, etc.), and I am almost positive that "the lady" is an invited guest....
I hope Rachel gets hold of this so she could explain it better than I did.

(10,044 posts)It has to free Iraq and Syria...something about their law demands a territory from which to govern and control. The article explains a lot about Ben Ladin, and his being a Sunni and how lowly they regard the Shia.
The writer does not mention Jesus as the leader of the Islamists when he returns.....this was the part I heard on TV that I couldn't get over.
Will try to find the link or name of the woman who was on New Day.
The more I learn about ISIS the more I fear them. Rome is not far and they will no doubt make some appearance there in the near future.
Thanks for posting.
I have to write down a few of the names of leaders they mention and keep my ears open more.

(4,919 posts)After its battle in Dabiq, Cerantonio said, the caliphate will expand and sack Istanbul. Some believe it will then cover the entire Earth, but Cerantonio suggested its tide may never reach beyond the Bosporus. An anti-Messiah, known in Muslim apocalyptic literature as Dajjal, will come from the Khorasan region of eastern Iran and kill a vast number of the caliphates fighters, until just 5,000 remain, cornered in Jerusalem. Just as Dajjal prepares to finish them off, Jesusthe second-most-revered prophet in Islamwill return to Earth, spear Dajjal, and lead the Muslims to victory.

This segment of CNN might be repeated later on, not sure, cause they have so much junk on all the time that has nothing to do with news...
Glad you posted the link....I was excited to hear the guy. Actually I think he was on in the morning the same time as "the lady," but I didn't get a chance to hear him, I just remembered seeing him....

There are other links if you check search engines.
This is the first I checked and found a lot of answers in it.

It's easier to find a cure if you learn all about the disease. Same with religion. Poo-pooing won't help, sensible arguments might.
That's why when the woman on tv told about them waiting for Jesus to come back, I was stunned. I had to extract myself from Revelation some time ago, and thought I was done with it for good. I thought it was outlier groups, but no, it is an actual belief in Islam, except I don't think the Koran tells people to go out and bring about the End Times. That's a misunderstanding of this book that needs to be cleared up. Just left alone, no harm done.
The link I posted tells about the connection, take it or leave it.
It's not easy to "unradicalize" people who have been radicalized.

(26,219 posts)Islamic end times thought (shia) believes that the mahdi (a successor to Mohammed) will return to Iran. Sunnis believe Mohammed returns with Jesus as his wing man.
Fascinating stuff.
