Worked before, and will work again in Libya, again, Syria, and Iraq, again. Real men go to Iran . . . and Russia.

If ANY of these beasts are attached at the "foreign policy advisor" level of his campaign, GUARANTEED they're going to be back in power, infesting the Pentagon, the State Department, and the National Security Advisor's office - PLUS the UN Ambassador. Watch it be somebody like john bolton again. (He, TOO, is a PNAC signatory.)

(36,418 posts)I remember Ledeen is the author of the Ledeen Doctrine. Ex-Pentagon official Michael Ledeen is famously quoted by Jeff Goldberg as saying: Every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show we mean business. (When the French ambassador in London, at a dinner party, asked why we should risk World War III over some shitty little countrymeaning IsraelGoldbergs magazine was not amused.) Maybe it was some other wannabe world changer.
Excellent article on the tribulations of the neocons, here: http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/whose-war/

(81,320 posts)us taxpayers one dime - because all that Iraqi oil was gonna pay for it! WOW!!! What a deal! Let's get TWO!
And michael ledeen can burn in Hell for all I care. His room is already reserved I think, based on that piece-of-shit statement of his: "every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show we mean business"???????????????? Oh My FREAKIN' GOD...

(11,990 posts)No company should be allowed to make money out of war. All "defense" work should be non-profit. That's the only defense WE have against the military industrial complex. Allowing private companies and their shareholders to make gobs of money out of war is a huge, fundamental flaw in our system. Personal enrichment of powerful people should never be allowed to become a motive for military operations, and as long as the profit potential is there, it will be.

Look men intend to make money by creating fear.

(15,303 posts)Maybe we could offer the profiteers a piece of the "prosperity pie" that happens after we solve all of the world's problems.
You know, like the new Obamacare rules that would require hospitals and physicians to actually make their patients well before getting paid? Return visits to ER (or Iraq, Middle East, etc.) would be a negative reimbursement for expenses.
Or maybe we need to make sure that every neocon has some real skin in the game. Get in front of the troops, Wolfie, Chinney. Put your children and grandchildren in battle gear and put them on the front line, not in some DC bunker.
