House Joint Resolution 71 would add a line reading, "We recognize that our liberties do not come from governments, but from Almighty God, our Creator and Savior."
VanHuss' colleague, Rep. Jerry Sexton (R) also introduced a bill last week that would make the Holy Bible the state book.

(10,479 posts)5. It seems that almost every day another state rep makes himself
or herself look as crazy as they sound in this state. They get into government through the people that live in the boonies. They have voted because the people running make them believe they are on the side of God. That is all that is needed. Education has absolutely nothing to do with it. One man that was reelected last year is a doctor who lied himself into the state again. Ego makes them run, hicks elect them. It is sickening!
