What 10 Hours Of Walking In Paris As A Jew Looks Like

This is awful

-------------------------------------

A month after a gunman killed four people at a kosher market in Paris, following a larger attack on Charlie Hebdo, Jewish journalist Zvika Klein decided to record 10 hours of walking through the French capital to show what it's like for a Jew in the city.

Klein embarked on the 10-hour trek wearing a kippah, or yarmulke. A photographer traveled with Klein through the streets of Paris and nearby suburbs, recording the journey using a GoPro hidden in a backpack. The footage was edited down to a 90-second clip and published on the Israeli news site NRG.

In the video, Klein can be seen walking silently. Things got tense when he leaves popular tourist destinations and heads for public housing neighborhoods. There, Klein is met with remarks like "Jew," "homo" and "Viva Palestine." Some spit at him and others follow him. In his report for NRG, he wrote that a little boy asked his mother "What is he doing here Mommy? Doesn’t he know he will be killed?"

The video has garnered more than 1 million views since being posted to YouTube Sunday.

Paris: 10 hours, silent walking as a Jew. I got spit at, cursed and threatened. Unfortunatley, this is France-2015 pic.twitter.com/3BZ9Jaqluh

one "hasn't happened to me" and one "who cares about that, look at THIS, because THIS is important." Sad.

For my part, I'm glad this is getting attention on YouTube.

It's very educational watching supposed liberals find excuse after excuse about this: "it's a right wing source" (also posted on Huffington Post so that's bullshit), "it's Israel's fault (that I'm seeing this on any liberal board is cause concern because the poster doesn't seem aware it's a problem) "it's worse for blacks in the US" (as if that mitigates what's happening in this video at all and I can only imagine what the response would be if this WERE about African Americans and someone tried to minimize it by using a different minority). Very educations indeed.

Years ago me and my brother were accosted by some psychos protesting Angels in America walking down the street, lets make a viral video making California look as homophobic as Russia. That's ridiculous.

This Israeli journalist specifically chose to stroll in Moslem neighborhoods in the northeast of Paris. In ways, he was kind of being courageous and in fact some passersby told him so, according to TV reports I've seen.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/17/10-hours-walking-in-paris-as-a-jew-video_n_6697736.html

"...Critics have said the video has been edited to portray a "false impression," according to the BBC, and some have taken issue with the fact that Klein walked through poorer, predominantly Muslim neighborhoods. But Klein, who was trailed by a bodyguard during the walk, said he does not see this as baiting. ..."

with people of different races, genders, sexual orientations, nationalities, political parties, status levels, education levels, etc., and there is no group that is generally more or less judgemental and prejudiced than any others. It is inherent in human nature to judge people who are different than you, and nobody I've ever met is innocent of that.
