LINCOLN — A state inspector found the 4-year-old German shepherd lying flat on her concrete kennel floor last month, barely alive in the 4-degree weather.
At the veterinarian’s office, the female dog had a temperature too low to register on the thermometer. Her heart was beating less than 20 times a minute.
Ivory couldn’t stand but occasionally twitched, which the veterinarian said was a sign of hypothermia.
The veterinarian offered no hope of recovery and euthanized the dog.
